general information - Steering Calibration - EV3, M3 & St1

 

NOTE: Before calibrating ensure potentiometer is centred correctly

(grub screw inline with wire)

Select your logger from the buttons at the side

Logger Manager

General Window

Select the logger you want

Channels Window

Select any channel that is free

NOTE – Formula Renualt Users can only choose Channels 4 - 8

Give it a name (eg steering)

Sampling rate 20Hz (recommended)

Select Mid Zero Potentiometer from the pull down menu

Lower Bounce-180 (recommended)

Upper Bounce180 (recommended)

Click on the Transmit button

Calibration Window

Click on the blue Calibrate button next to the channel you have selected for steering

Sensor Calibration Window

Follow the instructions below:

Turn steering wheel 90degrees to the right

Click Get Raw Value button

Turn steering wheel to 0 degrees

Click Get Raw Value button

Turn steering wheel 90degrees to left

Click Get Raw Value button

Enter the value 90 for HIGH POSITION

Enter the value -90 for LOW POSITION

If you are not sure if was done right you can watch measure box for actual angle

If any values are incorrect set the steering wheel to position and click Get Raw Value button again

If correct click OK

Calibration Window

The status of the steering channel should now read Calibrated in red

Click on the Transmit Calibration button to send to the logger
